Pom into Wreath, I hope!

Months and months ago I fell in love with a project that a friend of mine Christy from Lovely Little Nest made for her sweet baby Harper. Isn't it just the loveliest pom pom?!

I just used my spare paper lantern on making an "artichoke lantern" for a friend of mine. Have you seen these?
My friend Claire sent me this photo and said "could you make one for me?"

I do have a Styrofoam ring  from one of my book wreaths
Not mine, but you get the idea. This was the actual wreath that inspired me though :)
SO! HERE GOES NOTHIN'! I'm going to attempt combining the two techniques.
Pale yellow cotton, my glue gun, scissors and wreath ring!
Check ya in a bit!

what am I making?

I have ordered these:

I'm thinking I should probably get some more hot glue gun sticks....dang! I was in hobbycraft this afternoon and I totally forgot!

AND FINALLY

I'm snooping around for a skanky old book or two that are falling apart.

Any guesses???

do you heart liberty of london?

One of the shops I miss most from home is Target! OOOOH Target! There's even a missing photo of Mr Woo and I standing outside of Target on our honeymoon to Charleston. One of my dear sweet friends told me that Target has a range of Liberty of London out now. She even sent me a beautiful photo frame!
I have to admit I'd never heard of Liberty of London. But since hearing about it from Kitty I've been intrigued!
"Wondering what all the hype about Liberty of London is all about? Liberty has been producing fabrics and textiles since the 1800s. They are best known for their floral prints, but also have masterful, gorgeous novelty and geometric prints in their catalog. Their classic prints never go out of style and their new prints are always fashion-forward and interesting. Of their various basecloths, Liberty’s Tana Lawn is the most popular and widely available. Lawn is a lightweight, semi-sheer, plain weave fabric, and Liberty’s version strikes a wonderful balance of drape and body that makes it versatile enough for a wide range of projects. It makes sublime clothing, and I’ve heard it works well for quilts too.
Want to know more? FuzzyLizzie Vintage has a nice history of Liberty fabrics here. I know no bigger proponent of Liberty prints than Erin of A Dress A Day (her Liberty posts are kept here). If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have known about the book Liberty & Co. in the Fifties and Sixties: A Taste for Design."

What?!

Mr Woo has been particularly interested in the post for the past few days.
It's usually just me...but he asked this morning if we'd gotten anything.
We hadn't. I carried on getting ready.

Mr Woo  "Well, I might as well tell you now".
Mrs Woo "oh. no."
{I thought it was going to be bad news, like a baliff order or over due bill or something.....bad....}

Mr Woo "I wanted to wait, but I'll tell you now...
I bought you a Sizzix Big Shot".
My jaw literally dropped. Like, actually. How it happens on Eastenders and in the movies.

Mrs Woo "Whaaaaaat?!"

Mr Woo said that he said to himself if he won the work lottery {they have a lottery at work, he was just asked to put his pound in because someone dropped out that's all I know} then he would buy the machine for me. WHAT?!
I cried and told him he should have used it to get something he wanted! He already has to provide everything else for me as I can't find work. He said to consider it an Easter present.
Mr Woo said he wanted me to cheer me up as I've been so down because of losing Poppy. He also said he wanted to give me something to help me with my card making and to "help me be a shop". "I am a shop" when I am selling things you see. So if I'm part of a craft fair or helping out at the Vintage Shop or if someone buys something from my etsy, then, I am a shop.

So there ya have it. I wanted to share my excitement about becoming the new owner of a fun crafty gadget but most importantly I wanted to brag about my sweet, sweet handsome Hus.
How'd a girl like me get to be so lucky!?!
It doesn't really matter, I'm just so thankful for my Mr Woo x

i am too excited!

I am about as excited as this woman is to have sparkling pans! However my excitement has nothing to do with housework {it rarely does}.
  1. I have gotten into doing trades with people on Etsy. It is brilliant! I have gotten a few really wonderful things but for some reason I am SUPER EXCITED about today's trade! I'm trading some of my precious vintage buttons for a handmade zipper pouch with Mrs Woo embroidered on! eeeeeeeeee!

  2. When I went to email the person I am doing a trade with I found another message in my inbox....SOMEONE WHO LOVES MY WORK AND WOULD LIKE TO FEATURE ME ON THEIR BLOG! "Would I be interested" she said...whaaaaaaaaaat? What do you think sister?!

  3. This week has been a bit up and down, rollercoastery if you will. We found out my visa application was approved, but then Mr Woo's father left to work abroad for six months...so we've had lots of emotions going on in the family.
But tonight Mr Woo is taking me to town to celebrate my visa! It has been such a hard and long process it doesn't seem real that this leg of the journey is finally over!
We opened a bottle of champagne last night...but tonight we're gonna paint the town hot pink! I think I should have some sort of union jack accessory to celebrate my new status!
Today's letter is E - for Excited!
