Teddy Bears & Illustration Inspiration

Mr Woo has been thinking a lot about what gift to give our little RoseBud {what I've taken to calling Baby Woo}. He wants to pick out a special soft toy for her. He's been trawling every toy store we pass, but he still hasn't found the perfect one yet. Everyone needs a first teddy don't they.
I found an extremely soft elephant & Uncle Laurie bought the matching cheetah. Mr Woo could pick a zebra from the same collection...but it's just not right. He wants the PERFECT soft toy for his baby girl. It makes my heart swell with love for him.

He also wants to write a little book for our little RoseBud. She'd be the main character and she will go on many adventures just like her Daddy and I have. I'm going to do the illustrations. I'm feeling quite inspired at the moment but I obviously need to wait for the story before I can go off drawing & painting!
The  Black Apple has been especially inspiring. I first saw Emily's artwork on my friend Kitty's blog.

I think it's just so sweet! 

One day when I'm not so tired I'll bust out my sketch book and watercolors.

I am running a bath so I have to be quick! I just wanted to show you a few of the wooden disc badges I've been painting today. I've also been making wonderful little tea cup & pot rings!

New Venture!

I shouldn't actually be writing right now, I SHOULD be in the shower! Naughty! My life just got very busy!
I started emailing someone from this new fab Wonder Emporium. It is vintage fabulousness!
After a few emails I'm all of a sudden setting up a unit!!!! I was hard at work painting yesterday with the smallest paintbrush! It was a real ratbag, but I got it done.

Today I'm shadowing a carer at the nursing home Mr Woo works for as I'll be a temporary carer to cover someone's brief absence. Eeeeeek! When it rains it pours!
PLUS I've just sent off a job application for something I'd love to do along with own little business which is coming into it's busiest time! My mom is going to burst because she's been praying hard for some doors to open for me. Here we go Mom the doors, and a lot of em, have just flung wiiiiide open! Woo Hoo!

My Bestie Came To Visit!

I don't get home very often, it's an expensive trip. I did get home in December for my Mom's 60th birthday. While home I got to see friends including my best friend and Maid of Honor Hailey and her new hus! Their home in Downtown Charleston is sooo cute! No matter how much time we got to spend together was just not enough! It never is.

Hailey's husband Ted has just finished his first year of Medical School

This summer is the only summer he'll have off for a very long time! And Happy Day! They came over to spend some of that time with us!!!!!

They're our first visitors from home since we've been married! So special. I'm soo happy that it was Hailey to be the first visitor. We've been such close friends for years, we're like sisters. It doesn't matter now much time passes between the last time we see each other we pick right back up as though no time as passed at all. It doesn't matter what huge life changes occur, we still jump right into the same rhythm.

We had such a wonderful time. The weather was perfect! Until the day they were leaving actually :)
Our neighbor told me they could hear us laughing! Ha! My best friend got to see what my life is a bit like. She got to see where I live. Now she has pictures to put to the stories. My heart is happy.
